Cubs

The Cub Scout Packs are named after Red Indian Tribes.

Each Cub Pack is led by a Cub Scout Leader (CSL) usually known as 'Akela', the name of the Mother Wolf from the Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling. A lot of the programme ideas are based on this story and all the cub leaders have a jungle name.

The pack is divided into "sixes" led by a "Sixer" who is usually an older cub and appointed by Akela. The Sixer is usually assisted by a "Seconder" who is usually older that the rest of the six but not as old as the sixer. This position is also appointed by Akela.

All training and activities in the pack are led and supervised by Adults.

Meetings are from 6.30 to 8.00 p.m. in the HQ :

  • Apache on Mondays
  • Sioux on Tuesdays
  • Cherokee on Thursdays

The cubs came from Beavers and between the ages of 10 and 11 depending on maturity the Cubs go to Scouts.
