Once again a successful year with over 8,000 items delivered and £1,378 for the funds. Thank you to everyone (over 100 families) who made this possible. Special thanks go to Anne Hill, Sorting Manager, who also covered for the Collection Manager and helped with publicity. Also thanks to Ann Dallen who acted as Delivery Manager and made over 100 telephone calls to sort out the postmen! Next year the Royal Mail prices will have increased and we expect an even bigger and better scheme. To achieve this we need to recruit these key people NOW. Each job takes around 10-12 hours during November and December – averaging less than 2 hours a week! The Collection Manager liases with the shops and delivers and collects our post boxes (with help!). The Delivery Manger ensures that all rounds are collected. The Publicity Manger arranges for the posters and leaflets to be printed and distributed, sends out press and radio releases and organises any picture opportunities. Arranging the postmen involves making about 100 telephone calls; the cost is covered by the scheme.
