Eagle Explorer Scouts from Epsom invest 5 new members on the summit of Pen Y
Fan, Easter Sunday 2007.
A lunchtime rendezvous at the summit of the highest mountain in Wales was just part of the 23km day hike plan. Onlookers watched in amazement as the 16 strong group donned uniform shirts and unrolled a flag before performing the brief ceremony to invest 5 new members into their ranks.
The party also contained 6 Scouts of the Orby Scoutkar group from Stockholm in Sweden who had made the journey just for this expedition.
The Eagle Unit has a tradition of investing its new members in strange or exciting places as these prove more memorable for the youngsters.
