On our trip to Uganda this August, we are not just going to be doing project work. We may also slip in a few 'extra-curricular' activities! These include a 'shopping' trip to the capital and a three day safari! This page is dedicated to briefly outlining what we will be doing in Uganda and when. Below is an overview of the programme we will be following in Uganda:

10/08/03 Fly out to Entebbe airport, Uganda from Heathrow on a 7 hour plane journey!

 

11/08/03 Travel from Entebbe airport through Kampala (the capital)onto Jinja, where we will eat in a 'night club'! We will be staying on a campsite at night.

 

12/08/03 The team will now be splitting in two, with Team 1 going to Mayuge, Iganga and Team 2 going to Tororo. This will be the start of our project work.

 

13/08/03-15/08/03 The two teams will be doing their various project work over these 3 days.

 

16/08/03-17/08/03 Team 2 in Tororo will travel to Mayuge to send the weekend at the Mayuge District camp with Team 1. On the night of the 17th, the whole group will be traveling to the centre of Iganga to do project work on the disabled senior school. We will be spending the night in a 'hotel' called 'Tiptop'.

 

18/08/03 Both teams will be working on the disabled senior school in Iganga, with another night at 'Tiptop'.

 

19/08/03-21/08/03 On the 19th, Team 1 will be traveling to Tororo to continue with Team 2's project work, while Team 2 will carry on in Mayuge. Project work will continue until the 21st.

 

22/08/03 Team 2 in Mayuge will travel to Tororo, while Team 1 will continue with their project work. The night will be spent at the district scout site.

 

23/08/03-24/08/03 Both teams will spend the weekend helping at the Tororo District camp.

 

25/08/03-28/08/03 We will be traveling from Tororo to the Queen Elizabeth Safari Park to start our three day safari. On the 28th we will travel from QE park to Jinja.

 

29/08/03 We will then be doing some site seeing in Jinja and may do some shopping (if there's anything worth buying!).

 

30/08/03-31/08/03 We will then travel back to Kampala to do a final bit of project work and some shopping in the nearby markets, staying the night at a place called the 'Backpackers'.

 

01/09/03 Our final morning in Uganda, we will be flying back to the UK from Entebbe airport!
